Review – Deep Learning World Berlin 2018
November 12, 2018 – Estrel Hotel Berlin
Dr. Christoph Best
Senior Data Scientist
Dr. Christoph Best always worked with large data sets, first as a theoretical high-energy Physicist doing supercomputer simulations of quantum field theories, then in bioimage informatics on understanding protein structure using electron microscopy, and since a few years as data scientist at Google in the Ads Measurement Data Science team. He works on understanding how user behavior is influenced by advertising, in particular through geo-based experiments.
Dr. Christoph Best is speaker of the following session:
Klaas Willhelm Bollhöfer
Founder & AI Thinker
Klaas Bollhoefer is founder and managing director of Birds on Mars GmbH, a Berlin-based company that enables organizations to develop strategies, structures, teams and applications at the connections of artificial and human intelligence. Klaas has been chief data scientist & evangelist with The unbelievable Machine Company (*um) for more than 6 years, pioneering data science in Germany, Europe and beyond. Always in-between, at the interfaces of business, IT, artificial intelligence and design he describes himself as a for-, side- and backward thinker. The time left is filled with lightning talks, guest lectures, program committee chairs and craft brewing. Klaas is a certified scrum master, design thinker, mediator and coach and will never stop being curious.
Klaas Willhelm Bollhöfer is speaker of the following session:
Miguel Fierro
Data Science and AI
Miguel González-Fierro is a Data Scientist at Microsoft UK, where his job consists of helping customers leverage their processes using Big Data and Machine Learning. Previously, he was CEO and founder of Samsamia Technologies, a company that created a visual search engine for fashion items allowing users to find products using images instead of words, and founder of the Robotics Society of Universidad Carlos III, which developed different projects related to UAVs, mobile robots, small humanoids competitions, and 3D printers. Miguel also worked as a robotics scientist at Universidad Carlos III of Madrid and King’s College London, where his research focused on learning from demonstration, reinforcement learning, computer vision, and dynamic control of humanoid robots. He holds a BSc and MSc in Electrical Engineering and an MSc and Ph.D. in robotics. For more information about Miguel you can visit his website.
Information about Miguel Fierro's session will follow soon.
